You might be a high-brow fan sporting some serious shaping or brow-d to be natural (sorry!) with just a little plucking here and there. Whatever your choice, here’s all you need to know about this year’s hairiest fashion accessory.
If you google ‘eyebrows’ (and we did..all in the name of research you understand) you will instantly get over 2 million hits. Since when did these hairy appendages become such a popular topic?
Seeing Cara Delevingne on the Graham Norton show a few weeks ago reminded us that bushy eyebrows are back. It’s not a new fashion, as many of you will know if you remember Brooke Shields. As the original champion of the fuller brow, she sported the so-called natural look throughout her career in modeling and acting during the 1980’s and 1990’s.
Eyebrows are funny things. We couldn’t do without them as we use them so much in expressing our emotions but, when they don’t look quite right, we can’t quite put our finger on what’s wrong. However, for 2015, there certainly seems to be a move towards eyebrows being elevated to the lofty heights of fashion accessory. Alongside Cara, many celebs, including Rihanna, Rita Ora and Emma Watson, are sporting natural, fuller brows.
Don’t get us wrong, though – there’s ‘natural’ and there’s “natural’. Back in the ‘80’s there were some high profile mistakes in the brow department. Madonna and Julia Roberts were two culprits who sported eyebrows that were, quite frankly, unkempt. Nowadays, there’s much more eyebrow styling available so we get a more cultivated natural look, tidy and ever so slightly shaped but still natural and complementary to the face shape and colouring.
These days there are internet quizzes, fashion articles and youtube videos to help you determine the eyebrow shape that’s best for your face. At Skincare Inc, we offer Brow by Mii. Take a look at our website or pop in for a consultation and to find out more.
